I’ve been doing Athletics since the age of 10 and can comfortably say the past 3 years have been my favourite. This is not a coincidence! Being part of BUAC has put a whole new perspective on the sport for me, I love being part of the team and that there is so much more to the club than what happens on the track. Being Club President is a huge honour and along with the other committee members, I can’t wait to do everything I can to take BUAC to the next level.

Biomedical Science

I’m from Sheffield and am a member of City of Sheffield Athletics Club. I started running when I was 11 and in my athletics career I have broken numerous British records before going through a period of injuries. I love being a member of BUAC and coming to the university has really helped me grow into a smarter and stronger athlete.

Dentistry

I’m from Bromley in south-east London, and started out running cross country in primary school before joining my local club Blackheath & Bromley in 2010 aged 11. I continued with athletics alongside football throughout my school years but was never able to make it to English Schools.
I came to Birmingham in 2017 to study dentistry and since joining BUAC I have been fortunate enough to compete at BUCS 4 times, making the final of the steeplechase in 2019 and helping us to a team silver at the 2020 cross country champs.

Medicine

I've been running for around 10 years, with a bit of swimming and triathlon mixed in too! Since joining BUAC in 2019, I've had the best time here and even managed to improve my PBs a little too. I'm really excited to now be the cross country captain and lead the team to another fantastic year!

History

I am very new to athletics, having only started at university, but I have absolutely loved being a part of the BUAC family. A big part of being part of the club for me was getting the kit, and that feeling of belonging within the group is a feeling I hope I can bring to as many of you as possible this year by giving you access to wear the UoB red. On the PR side of my role, I am looking forward to giving our amazing athletes a platform to showcase their skills online!

Sport Exercise & Health Science

I started athletics and cross country at senior school at the age of 12, competing for fun. Falling in love with it I then decided to join Basildon Athletics and competed for them and Essex for 7 years before joining BUAC. My experience throughout has been fantastic, even with the ups and downs, and joining BUAC has been one of the many highlights.

Medicine

I was introduced to the sport when I was 6 years old and coming from a small athletics club, I learnt to love the sport through not only competing but also volunteering, coaching and officiating. Since joining the club in my 2nd year, I have been focusing on taking my running (& steeplechasing) more competitively - whilst also continuing to have fun and enjoy the social aspects of the sport!

Hello everyone, my name is Guy and I am delighted to be your men's welfare officer for this year. I am entering the 7th year at Birmingham and the 6th year with BUAC! So I've experienced a lot of things during my time and hopefully can try and contribute to creating a positive and supportive culture within the club! If you see me about, and want to chat, feel free to say hello or reach out to me online! Hopefully will be seeing a lot of new and familiar faces around and we can all have the best year that we can!
