As a club, we have proudly supported Parkinson’s UK, raising over £100,000 for the charity that is so close to our hearts. This was after our beloved coach, Bud Baldaro, was diagnosed with the disease in 2011.
Bud is the life and soul of BUAC. Having started coaching at the University in 2005, he has selflessly given his life to the club and continues to coach the university’s athletes today. He is an esteemed and respected coach having coached international athletes to major championships and championship medals.
Our favourite way to raise money for Parkinson’s UK is to organise ‘Bud’s Run’, an annual 5k fun run at the University of Birmingham’s campus. From this event alone we have raised around £80,000 since 2014 and hope the event continues to be an exciting and successful event.
Run, jog or walk the 5K fun run, take part in the corporate team challenge, or cheer on the under 11's 2K - all in aid of Parkinson's UK.
